LE92 Tricot Crochet - The Complete Book

** This is a heavy book, please click here to see note regarding additional postage.

(Australian) by Rebecca Jones. This hard covered edition gives us a brief history of tricot, and details everything you wanted to know about this cross between knitting and crochet which has been given common names such as Afghan Crochet, Scotch Knitting, Fool’s Knitting and Shepherd knitting. This book covers basic techniques, 18 plain tricot stitches, 6 textured pattern stitches, 11 lace stitch patterns, another 8 with trebles and cables and 10 other patterns using 2 or more colours. A bit more information on tricot in the round and then there are numerous projects to tackle like a coverall (long shawl to wear), vest or pullover, chunky sweater, sleeveless waistcoat, cosy cardigan, a triangle shawl, sideways waistcoat, mittens, beanie, golf cap, a handy quillo (rug that folds into a pillow, plaid rug, baby bootees and child's overalls. There is also a section on dying yarns in the microwave. 96 pages

GC71108 Adven Entrelac Working in Rounds

GC71108 Adven Entrelac Working in Rounds

by Carolyn Christmas. Have fun learning how to make Tunisian crochet entrelac beginning from the center and working outward in rounds to make a potholder, pillow and hat and scarf. Items shown made with worsted-weight cotton and acrylic yarns and a bulky yarn like Lion Brand Homespun, and can be made with Tunisian or regular crochet hooks. Entrelac is made block by block. In this pattern, we are working from the center outward, with each round of blocks growing a bit larger. Because the rows in Tunisian entrelac are so short, a Tunisian or afghan stitch hook is not necessarily needed; entrelac can be made with a regular crochet hook as well as a Tunisian hook.
