Benefits of Online Learning with Crochet Australia
Thereâs no doubt about it â learning online has become the norm!  In the world of crochet we have had pre-recorded videos available for many years – to help us learn the skill of crochet or learn new techniques. Pre-recorded sessions do however have their drawbacks â they can be lonely, provide no immediate feedback, answers to questions canât be answered as they arise and give no ability to see the work from different angles as you need it. Live online classes offered at Crochet Australia overcome these obstacles, and have the advantage of:
- Being Interactive with the instructor
- Offering social interaction from the safety of your home
- Being inspiring
You don’t have to be an expert in crochet to attend. Our classes are for people of all levels who want to share, learn, and socialize together.
Take Part in Interactive Classes
Interact in Real-TimeÂ
Techniques are demonstrated with close-up views of what the instructor is doing, using Zoom functionality, so you canât miss it. With this kind of training, you can see complex techniques in action, ask questions when you need to, ask for repeated demonstrations and views from different points and angles.
Everyone learns at different speeds, and during our crochet classes we cater for this â with demonstrations at the point you need it. Where necessary we set up separate groups to cater for different stages of progress.
We welcome questions from all participants during online classes. These also help the other attendees.
But the real benefit of the live interactive classes is the ability to give you immediate feedback on your progress. Just hold up your work for the instructor to see to check you are doing it right, or work out where youâve gone wrong.  It’s a lot easier than uploading images and waiting for a response some time in the next few days.
Works with Zoom
Online crochet classes at Crochet Australia are run via Zoom video conferencing. It is not essential to have zoom downloaded, although it does make it easier for future sessions if you do.   Youâll need access to an internet connection to connect to zoom and a camera (webcam, phone, ipad or laptap) to facilitate two-way interaction. When you sign up for an online class with Crochet Australia you will receive more tips to get the most out of a zoom session.
Increase Your Social Interaction
Crochet is an excellent hobby to partake in with friends. But many craft groups have been suspended and many people are limiting their time spent in the company of others. Online crochet classes with Crochet Australia is the answer!
Meet Real People
You may not be able to meet up at the same physical location, but you can still meet real people online. Our love of crochet can bring us together through one of the darkest times in world history.
âOne of the best reasons for doing zoom classes is, of course, learning from a distance. It also allows for learning in a safe space health wise. I have learned so much from you Lynda. You have many ways to do certain stitches that keep whatever youâre making looking good.â Debra K NSW
Increase Your Confidence
It is up to you how much or little you want to participate in the discussions. Whether you’re new to the craft or have tons of experience, crochet classes at Crochet Australia helps build confidence through real-time interaction.
In a physical location, you might be hesitant to ask questions or speak up. From the comfort of your own home, though, you’re more likely to feel confident. And you’ll get more confident as you meet new people and develop your skills.
Learn from Each Other
Our Crochet classes let you interact with your fellow participants as well â so its just like attending a real class and catch up with like-minded people. Like all crochet classes, you can learn various tips and tricks from other participants as well as from your instructor, and contribute your own tips and tricks. During our online crochet classes there are times to freely chat with each other and ask questions. You will feel like you are in the same room with everyone.
Inspire Your Creativity
The art of crochet is skilled and creative, of course. You have to be patient, and it won’t come easy. But, like all good things, it takes effort. Whether or not you think you’re creative, you can still learn and grow with online crochet classes.
Have Fun with Each Other
You’re supposed to have fun when you’re in a class with others, right? Our online classes allow you to enjoy learning as if you are in a real room together. You will be surprised at how rewarding it is.
ââI love the online classes as I live interstate. I have done many with Crochet Australia and learnt so much. Itâs a wonderful experience.â Chris G NSW
While learning the basics and advanced techniques of crochet under an instructor’s guidance, you’ll be surrounded by creative and jovial people. You can then explore your creative side and tackle more challenging crochet projects or others that suit your tastes.
Share Creative Tips
Our classes are super interactive. Our instructors will show you close-ups of all techniques. And you can ask them anything. We encourage all of our attendees to share their progress, unique ideas and tips with each other.
Learn at Your Own Pace
We welcome everyone to our online crochet classes no matter what level you are. Everyone is there to learn and it is not a race. So if you donât get to the same place everyone else does during the class, thatâs okay. Youâll have time to progress at home and come back the following week with any questions and follow up and continue with your project.
Learn to Crochet
Online classes are not just limited to those who can already crochet! If you are looking to learn this creative and fun skill, schedule an online learn to crochet class.
